Frequently Asked Questions
Do you provide the doll or action figure head sculpt?
No. Clients are responsible for providing the doll, action figure head sculpt, body, clothing, and accessories unless otherwise discussed in advance.
Do you recreate previous work or duplicate existing dolls?
No. Every piece is individually hand-painted and completely one of a kind. Previously completed projects are not recreated or duplicated.
Do you replicate the work of other artists?
No. Atelier Narae does not copy or replicate the work of other artists.
What types of commissions do you accept?
Current commission services include:
custom 1/6 action figure head repaints
celebrity portrait dolls
realistic fashion doll repaints
rerooting and customization services
selected sculpt modification work
Can you repaint Hot Toys or third-party head sculpts?
Yes. Both official and third-party head sculpts may be accepted depending on the project.
How realistic can the final likeness become?
Final results depend heavily on the quality and structure of the base sculpt provided. Head sculpts already closely matched to the intended celebrity or character generally achieve the strongest likeness results.
Additional sculpt modifications may be recommended when necessary.
Do you offer rooted hair customization?
Yes. Hair rerooting is currently available for selected 12” doll projects.
Can I request facial modifications or re-sculpting?
Yes. Limited facial modifications and eye re-sculpting services are available depending on the project complexity.
Additional fees may apply.
Do you provide progress photos during the process?
Progress photos are generally not provided during repaint stages. Due to the layered nature of repaint work, completed paint stages cannot easily be revised without restarting portions of the piece.
Final approval photos will always be provided before shipment.
How long does a commission take?
Typical completion time is approximately 5 to 6 weeks depending on project complexity and current workload.
Larger or highly customized projects may require additional time.
How do I reserve a commission slot?
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a commission slot.
Work begins once both the deposit and project materials have been received.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment is accepted through Square via major credit cards and electronic checks.
A verified billing address is required for all transactions.
Do you offer layaway plans?
Layaway options may be available upon request and must be approved before beginning a commission.
All layaway payments are non-refundable.
Can minor adjustments be requested after completion?
Minor adjustments may be discussed after completion when appropriate; however, all work ultimately remains under artistic direction to maintain the integrity, quality, and artistic consistency of the final piece.
Are all sales final?
Yes. Due to the custom and one-of-a-kind nature of commission work, all sales are final.
Does each completed piece include authentication?
Yes. Each completed commission includes a signed certificate of authenticity.
